Veterinary Assistant

Vicki grew up in Noblesville, Indiana, where she was surrounded by farms that housed cows, pigs, and horses. She even worked at a horse farm when she was young and showed Black Angus cows as a member of the 4-H club. It didn’t take long for Vicki to develop an intense passion for animal care; for her, a career in veterinary medicine simply made sense!

Vicki worked at another local animal hospital for several years before joining the Augusta Animal Clinic team in 1988. She started as a receptionist and has since learned all aspects of the veterinary business in her 25-year-plus animal-care career. Vicki has particular interests in laser therapy, surgery, and fostering strays. She also holds a professional groomer’s certification from The Animal Arts Academy.

Vicki lives with her boyfriend of 24 years, Jack, and their two pets. Rat, a rescued cat that Vicki bottle-fed and raised since she was only 1 week old, and Mama, formerly an outdoor kitty at the clinic, have both found a forever home with the soft-hearted Vicki.

In her spare time, Vicki enjoys watching old movies, playing cards, and visiting casinos.

Lisa began her veterinary journey at a local animal clinic after graduating from high school, then moved to North Chicago when she got married. After a short time at a practice in the city, Lisa and her husband moved back to the Indianapolis area. She was hired on at a large veterinary hospital, where she would serve as a receptionist for the next 23 years.

Lisa had known Dr. Dave for many years before becoming a part of the Augusta Animal Clinic family—she joined the team in May of 2011 after a former receptionist retired. Here at the hospital, Lisa enjoys helping out in the laboratory and managing the clinic’s social media presence.

Outside of work, Lisa enjoys cheering on the Colts, following NASCAR and Indy racing, and singing karaoke with her husband, Les. She and Les have three children: Jim, who recently graduated from IUPUI; Nick, who currently attends IUPUI; and Jessica, who lives in Pennsylvania with her husband.

At home, Lisa and her husband enjoy the company of three pets. Pepsi is a Labrador Retriever, and Ruby is a rescued Chocolate Lab mix who is the smartest dog Lisa has ever known. An elderly cat, Thumper, rounds out the four-legged portion of the family.

Ginni’s dogs and cats were her closest companions growing up, and she always felt an obligation to give something back to the pets who had shown her so much unconditional love and loyalty. She decided to dedicate herself to animal care at a very young age, and has now been grooming pets professionally for 25 years!

Ginni is an Indianapolis native and started grooming her family dachshund, Heidi, at the ripe age of 12. It wasn’t long before Ginni found herself grooming her dogs for shows. After a short stint in mobile grooming, she was fortunate enough to apprentice with a groomer from Chicago, and began her professional career shortly afterward.

When a former colleague of Ginni’s informed her about an opening here at Augusta Animal Clinic, she jumped at the chance to become a part of the hospital family. She’s been with Dr. Dave for 15 years! To this day, the feeling of accomplishment she gets when she’s able to return a pet to full health and beauty is like nothing else.

Ginni and her husband have three wonderful children and share their home with three mischievous dogs, four cats, and a bird. When time permits between work and family life, Ginni enjoys making crafts, reading, and growing orchids. She even holds her Master Gardener’s award from the American Orchid Society!

Kennel Attendant

An Indianapolis native, Janet has been bringing her own family pets to Dr. Dave since the mid-1980s. While visiting the clinic with her dogs in 1993, she was informed about the need for a weekend and holiday kennel attendant. Janet agreed to help out, and has been caring for the hospital’s boarding pets ever since!

Here at the clinic, Janet enjoys getting to know the personality of each and every pet boarded in the kennel. Tending to their individual needs is very rewarding for her! She’s especially touched when a pet comes back for another visit and instantly recognizes Janet as a friend.

Janet taught elementary vocal music for 22 years and retired in 2009. She’s still an active musician, though—she plays keyboard and sings solos for her church’s worship band. Janet also stays busy by managing her own business, Janet’s Music and More.

Janet and her husband, Robert, have two adult sons, a daughter-in-law, and a wonderful grandson. They currently have several cats and a dog who thinks he is Janet’s shadow.
